Are we like moths that flutter around the street lamp,
even though the goal is somewhere else? Is the concept of 'enlightenment' a
misleading term, which through its imagery gives rise to certain
associations? Even the flame of the candle carries a core of darkness.
About light as a symbol
There is a general notion of light as good and darkness as evil. But people
rarely think that the light is only a symbol of the good, not the good
itself. In the same way, darkness is merely a similitude of evil, not evil
itself. This probably comes from the world we live in, the sun gives us
light and warmth. The sun is the guarantor that life can continue on earth.
With the sun's help, water can evaporate and form clouds that produce the
life-giving rain. And the rain falls, fertilizing the earth and producing
water into streams, rivers, rivers, lakes, and finally, mighty oceans.
The nature of goodness
But if light symbolizes goodness, then what is goodness? Goodness is not
charity, indulgence or asceticism. Goodness is about this; to be true,
credible and genuine, without any hidden motives. In a passage from the Book
of Revelation we read about the rider on the white horse, whose name is
'faithful and true', yet 'the word of God'; King of kings and Lord of lords.
We understand from this that goodness is not about what we do but about what
we are, how we behave towards others. It is important to be freed from fear
and to fully stand for who we are. When we display our true nature, evil
cannot triumph.
Is the darkness a bad thing?
No one likes the dark because it is associated with evil. All kinds of
dangers hide in the dark; monsters, miscreants and thieves. But is it a
completely fair picture of the darkness? The darkness, like the light,
carries no value. Both of these are natural extremes in the dimension of
duality, which is the world in which we live. Darkness is the mother of
light, the preserving, protecting and nurturing aspect. In this way,
darkness is not an enemy, it hides the one who seeks rest and generates
recovery. Without the darkness, the light would be numbing, the light would
mercilessly burn and expose everything indiscriminately.
Prophets of Light
We are all somewhat of 'light junkies', i.e. we measure our own virtue with
units of light. The one who is brightest is considered the best and wisest
of all. But the one that is the brightest and most brilliant is not
necessarily the most suitable in different contexts. With one hundred
percent light or darkness, we see nothing, contrast is needed in an image or
text if it is to be able to convey something. A good balance is the
prerequisite for an optimal presentation. Often I have seen 'prophets of
light' stand on a stage and deliver a message. They literally shine a pale
light but in reality have nothing to say!
Doubtful blessings
People like to shower each other with false blessings. They like to end
conversations with the phrase 'Light and love'! With this, they want to
emphasize that they are filled to the brim with goodness (usually a little
more than others) and therefore deserve extra attention. The question is, of
course, whether this unbalanced phrase is particularly appropriate or
edifying. Equally doubtful is the concept of 'charity'. Someone gives to
emphasize himself, but the 'gift' is usually attached with demands for
counter-performances. It is undoubtedly better to convey gifts and favors
only when others really need and ask for something.
Light in the scientific sense
Physical light is only one of six basic energies in the Universe and not
even the highest. Science does not fully know these forms of energy, which
are: Physical matter, neutrino fields, light waves, etheric matter, electric
fields and finally G-waves (gravitational waves). The light waves (photons)
represent the third form of energy, associated with sight, knowledge and the
element 'Water'. Highest, however, are the G-waves, the universal force that
permeates everything. They are identical to the concepts of Ki, Chi and
Prana, the carriers of intuition. With the help of intuition, signs,
patterns and structures are seen to merge into an overarching overall
picture.
True Enlightenment
Already the Buddha Gautama, in his time, drew certain conclusions about the
nature of enlightenment. He had tried asceticism in the belief that there
was the path to wisdom. But asceticism did not enlighten the mind, rather it
was darkened. It is the same with every extreme that is believed to give
clarity. Even if it's excessive exercise, too intense meditation or
unnatural seclusion. True enlightenment is to achieve balance, equilibrium
and harmony in all areas. There we can find the answer to the riddle of
life.
Universal development is precisely about this, to center all expressions, to
converge. When man is in this flow, he meets no resistance, he is in phase
with life. Thus, his thoughts will carry him forward at a calm and steady
pace. New insights eventually lead to the previous perception of reality
having to be reconsidered. To achieve this, no 'ascension' and no escape
from the world is needed, wisdom will emerge in proper time. Man is a
champion exactly where he is and stands.
