In regard to Archangels, the confusion seems almost total. Depending on which source is invoked, one can find the most varied information about the name, number, purpose and origin of the Archangels. However, it is quite possible to see certain recurring features.

Origin

Archangels are obviously beings of higher rank than cherubim and seraphim. They are called 'chief angels'; heavenly, or even God's, messengers. My own personal interpretation of the nature of Archangels is that they are embodied representatives of cosmic beings such as moons, planets and suns. These beings are no stranger to 'descending' into matter and taking on lesser forms than they originally possessed. This descent is entirely in keeping with the sacrificial nature of the angel; a common occurrence for angels. When such a being descends, the original embodiment is put into a state of rest, a kind of coma. Thereby, the soul can enter and work in the smaller embodiment, the larger one survives as if on "autopilot".

Some greater beings can go all the way down to the human level, although the designation 'Archangel' usually refers to the spiritual manifestation of the being. Not all planets are blessed to receive a favor of this kind. But our planet and other celestial bodies in our vicinity fared worse than average. Hence the presence of protective and balancing angels who have carried a large part of humanity's burdens. As in large, so also in small. The same sequence of events has been repeated; from the largest dimension down to the human plane of existence. When the mission is complete, the Archangels return to the great cosmic dimensions. But they will be with us for a long time, because humanity is only at the beginning of its development

Archangels, a selection

Here follows my own list of Archangels, the ones I know and have some kind of relationship with. It is not some categorical knowledge set in stone but a highly personal and somewhat speculative reflection of their origin, characteristics and tasks:

Michael:

The number one champion of humanity. Regularly incarnated in human form to, sword in hand, make the world safer and level injustices. His name has (oddly enough) always been mistranslated in English. Michael is always said to mean; 'Who is like God'. This sounds like a question, a more correct meaning is of course; '(He) who is like God', i.e. equated with God or 'One with God'. Michael is identical to Christ (Jesus), who is thus more of a warrior king than a pious peacemaker, perhaps a difficult thought.

Michael's cosmic incarnations are supposed to be; the star Nibiru, the gas giant Uranus and the planet Anu (one of Nibiru's satellites). His human incarnations involve a number of warrior kings and several prominent figures in world religions; Krishna, Zoroaster (Zarathustra), the Buddha Gautama, Christ (Jesus/Izas), Alexander the Great (among others). What I mean is that one and the same soul is behind all these characters. The prophet Muhammed is in to much doubt if he ever existed. It would be wise to leave this character out, at least for the moment.

Raphael:

Archangel Raphael I see as the 'master builder', the erector of basic structures. In cosmic terms, it was the original sun of our solar system, a sun that can be called Apsu. Later, Apsu will perish, accidentally killed by his son Nibiru (Thoth). Raphael is also identical with the fallen planet Maldek, also here unluckily killed by the planet Anu. The god Enki is another incarnation, succeeded by his son Marduk. Rafael seems to be a character who constantly has given his life but who nonetheless manages to establish a life-supporting foundation for his successors.

Gabriel:

I associate this Archangel with the gas giant Neptune but also with the planet earth, mother earth. Thus it appears to be a female essence, new to me. As a spirit being, it is the angel who comes with a message to the Virgin Mary that she will give birth to a significant son. Mary, in the form of her higher self, thus leaves a prophetic message to herself. Gabriel is 'twin' which means a covenant with another angel; Chamuel? Neptune is conjunct Triton. The Earth is conjunct the Moon (no ordinary moon). The Virgin Mary in the Bible seems connected with the apostle John.

Jofiel:

Archangel of beauty, art and the good life. She is born from Ariel and will be marked by this essence to some extent. She is forced to transform chaos into order in her life. In a cosmic sense, she is the Sun, the gas giant Saturn and the planet Venus. As a physical angel she is Inanna/Ishtar. She follows Archangel Michael and supports him. Jofiel also has several earthly incarnations, including Queen Cleopatra and Maria Magdalena. She has a son, as in retrospect, who means a lot to her. The son is Rafael reborn, who joins her in strange ways.

Ariel:

Archangel Ariel is synonymous with Uriel. I see her as the cosmic equivalent of Mikael. But while Mikael is the light of the people, Ariel is the darkness of the people. She is the 'prosecutor', the destroyer, who through catharsis purifies people; entices them to take wrong paths in life. It is a very thankless but necessary role in this age of opposites. In a cosmic sense, Ariel is the 'Elder Sun'; BARBARU/UR-BAR-RA, which was split in two by the star Nibiru (Nemesis). The gas giant Jupiter is her embodiment, as is the planet Mars. As a physical angel she is Enlil. An earthly incarnation is Aaron, the brother of Moses.

Chamuel:

Possibly an Archangel associated in his cosmic embodiment with the giant moon Triton and our own moon. Closely connected with Archangel Gabriel as his 'twin'. Probably branched off from the planet Anu and thereby closely related to Mikael. Later 'adopted' by our Mother Earth. An Archangel who possesses high intellectual capacities. Advanced in mathematics and technology. An earthly incarnation is John, the disciple whom Jesus loved. Was it because they were expressions of one and the same primordial being? Another famous incarnation is the medieval genius and inventor Leonardo da Vinci.

Did you find this presentation chaotic and confusing? I can't help but agree!
